I bought this book for my partner as she is a big Cath Kidston fan and loves crafts. But she only has basic sewing skills and found making the bag very difficult, especially the rouleau which is impossible to make from the heavy cotton duck fabric supplied. She suggests doing it this way:- turn both long edges into the middle and press, fold in half lenghtways and press, then stitch along the long edge which far easier than trying to turn the heavy fabric inside out!

She would have liked the book to have less projects and more detailed pictures or illustrations showing how to do the various steps more clearly, perhaps Cath Kidston could do a sewing book for beginners with this in mind. Also the actual finished bag is very small, but she still intends to have a go at making some of the other projects in the book, but says be prepared to be very patient and keeping reading the instructions over!

My husband bought this book for me. It had been recommended by a friend who bought it in a high street store for the published price. Its great and I cant wait to get started on the projects. Amazon provided an excellent service and a significant saving. The free bag is probably worth as much as the cost of the book.

This is a great book for beginners like myself. Lots of fairly basic but at the same time useful, projects to get you started. And of course includes all the bits you need to make the bag on the front cover. Perfect for summer.

A book full of practical projects; often, one buys a craft book and there might be one or two items that appeal but this is full of good things to make.

Would recommend to anyone interested in sewing - either experienced or a learner, as there are clear instructions.

I love cath kidston and when i saw this book i thought i would have a look for such a good price! I enjoy trying to be creative and was a bit worried that this may be too difficult. I was WRONG there are patterns for every level. The pieces are all included to make a bag ( I haven't tried yet!) and there are numerous projects to try. Great value for money would definately recommend.
